Bed and Breakfast accomodations in Richibucto New Brunswick
Henry O'Leary built this Victorian Mansion in the 1860's for his love Mary Brittain. Three generations of O'Leary's have lived in the mansion. First Henry, then his first born son Richard and then Richard's daughters Eleanor and Elise. Eleanor was the last O'Leary to live in the Mansion and she passed away in 1982. The O'Leary's were very important in the Richibucto area. They owned many industries and employed much of the local population. At one point they owned 27 lobster canneries on the Northumberland Strait. The CS Parnell was Henry's ship and was the fastest ship at the time to cross from Richibucto (known as Liverpool at the time) to Liverpool England. They made the voyage in only 12 1/2 days when most ships would take up to 30 days.
